Product Features
What is Chocolate Resin Clay?
Chocolate Resin Clay from our Gourmet Clay Series is a specialized air-dry clay from Japan. It is designed for creating hyper-realistic mini food art (fake bake) and authentic kawaii designs.
With its light consistency and fine, realistic texture, this air-dry clay is ideal for fake food and miniature treats that look like freshly baked chocolate desserts.
Once fully dry, Resin Clay becomes extremely hard and durable, making it suitable for keychains, accessories, charms, and even jewelry.
Ideal for
- Chocolate desserts of all kinds
- Cakes, donuts, and cookies
- Chocolate ice cream
- Waffles and pancakes
- Confections and pralines
- Muffins and cupcakes
- Decorative elements (e.g. chocolate chips) and more
Texture & Sculpting

- Effortlessly mimics the look of freshly baked chocolate desserts
- Easy and comfortable to work with — ideal for a wide range of crafting and modeling projects
- Non-sticky to the hands and clean to handle
- Can be mixed with acrylic paints or other air-dry clays from our range to create new colors and textures
- Allows precise shaping and cutting for realistic details
Shape, cut, and texture the clay with ease to create fine details — from the perfect bite mark in a cake slice to realistic surfaces on brownies, pastries, or chocolate pieces.
Tips for modeling with air-dry clay:
Wash your hands thoroughly before working with Chocolate Resin Clay to avoid contamination. Make sure your workspace is clean and as dust-free as possible. Lightly applying hand cream before kneading helps keep the Resin Clay smooth while working. If the air-dry clay becomes too dry during use, lightly mist it with water to restore elasticity.
Surface tips:
Before drying, apply a small amount of clear oil to the surface to achieve a subtle, natural sheen. When combined with silicone molds, you can create an especially smooth surface — similar to real chocolate.
Why customers love Aura Clay® Resin Clay
Chocolate Resin Clay is the first choice for fans of Japanese kawaii culture, miniature food artists, DIY creators, hobby crafters, and small creative businesses that value precision, realism, and reliable results. Beginners also appreciate its easy handling and highly controllable workability.
Many conventional clays have unsuitable textures that require time-consuming texturing and tedious color mixing to achieve realistic results. This often leads to frustration, wasted time, and inconsistent outcomes.
Chocolate Resin Clay solves these issues with pre-colored color accuracy, a pre-textured, detail-retaining structure, and consistent quality — no baking required.
This allows our customers to create realistic food miniatures with full confidence, control, and a professional finish.
Chocolate Resin Clay gives you the right material to achieve precise, clean, and realistic creations — so you feel confident while working, well equipped, and proud of your results.

How to store Air-Dry Clay?
To keep your air-dry clay usable for as long as possible, always store it as airtight as you can. After use, place the Resin Clay back into the resealable pouch, close it securely, and then store it inside an airtight container.
Pro tip: Add a slightly damp paper towel to the airtight container. This helps keep your Resin Clay fresh for many months without drying out. Make sure to replace the towel regularly and disinfect the container with alcohol to prevent germs from forming.
How long does it take for Resin Clay to dry?
Within the first few hours after modeling, you can safely touch your Resin Clay piece with care. However, to ensure your creation is fully cured all the way through, allow it to dry for 7 days. After that, your piece can be sanded, painted, or sealed without any issues.
