What is Vanilla Resin Clay?
Vanilla Resin Clay from our Gourmet Clay series is a specialized air-dry clay from Japan. It was developed to authentically recreate realistic miniature food art (fake bakes) and kawaii designs.
With its light consistency and fine, realistic texture, this air-dry clay is ideal for creating fake food and miniature treats that look like freshly baked desserts.
Once dry, Resin Clay develops an extremely hard and durable finish, making it well suited for keychains, accessories, charms, and even jewelry pieces.

Tips for modeling with air-dry clay:
Wash your hands thoroughly before working with Vanilla Resin Clay to avoid contamination. Make sure your workspace is clean and as dust-free as possible. Lightly applying hand cream before kneading helps keep the Resin Clay smooth while working. If the air-dry clay becomes too dry during use, lightly mist it with water to restore elasticity.
Processing tips:
Press a small amount of Vanilla Resin Clay into a half-round shape (e.g. a measuring spoon) to create the perfect scoop of vanilla ice cream. When combined with silicone molds, you can achieve an especially smooth surface.
Why customers love Vanilla Resin Clay
Vanilla Resin Clay is the first choice for fans of Japanese kawaii culture, miniature food artists, DIY creators, hobby crafters, and small creative businesses that value precision, realism, and reliable results. Beginners also appreciate its easy handling and highly controllable workability.
Many conventional clays have unsuitable textures that require time-consuming texturing and tedious color mixing to achieve realistic results. This often leads to frustration, wasted time, and inconsistent outcomes.
Vanilla Resin Clay solves these issues with pre-colored color accuracy, a pre-textured, detail-retaining structure, and consistent quality — no baking required.
This allows our customers to create realistic food miniatures with full confidence, control, and a professional finish.
Vanilla Resin Clay gives you the right material to achieve precise, clean, and realistic creations — so you feel confident while working, well equipped, and proud of your results.

How to store Air-Dry Clay?
To keep your air-dry clay usable for as long as possible, always store it as airtight as you can. After use, place the Resin Clay back into the resealable pouch, close it securely, and then store it inside an airtight container.
Pro tip: Add a slightly damp paper towel to the airtight container. This helps keep your Resin Clay fresh for many months without drying out. Make sure to replace the towel regularly and disinfect the container with alcohol to prevent germs from forming.
How long does it take for Resin Clay to dry?
Within the first few hours after modeling, you can safely touch your Resin Clay piece with care. However, to ensure your creation is fully cured all the way through, allow it to dry for 7 days. After that, your piece can be sanded, painted, or sealed without any issues.
